Post 10: Louis Vuitton Digital Lookbook Final Project

Hey everyone, here is my video that I created. It is a digital lookbook of the Louis Vuitton Spring 2015 Collection. I decided to make it my own in a sense by using some pictures that I had taken myself when I went to Paris a few summers ago! This collection is brilliant. I also decided to mix it up a bit by showing some of my favorite pieces from the Iconoclast Collection that I felt would compliment the outfits beautifully. Hope you enjoy :)

Post 9: Digital Social Media (Instagram)

When it comes to advertisement and publicity for a fashion company, Instagram is the first thing that comes to my mind in terms of social media. What is great about Instagram is that you can even add links into the comment section of your post.
Most people nowadays do not want to see a post that involves a lot of words. No one has the time or the energy to read a long paragraph. Instead everything is purely visual for Instagram. Lets face it, nothing is sold to a consumer until they have seen the visual of the product.
Instagram has even replaced Google Images in a sense for some people, such as myself. If I want to find something or see a designers new collection, I will personally go to their Instagram page before anything else due to the elegance and simplicity that Instagram is able to provide.

Here are examples of how Instagram works. One picture is Burberry showing off their Winter 2015 collection and Louis Vuitton advertising their Iconoclast collection!

Post 8: Digital Lookbook "Free People"

I was able to come across a look book from this site called FreePeople.com. It wasn't until two days ago that my friends and I were discussing stores we had never been to and my friend had asked if I ever visited Free People. Being intrigued to find out what the store was, I looked it up and was able to conveniently find look books as well! I found the "My Secret Valentine" look book to be interesting mainly because of my current employment at Victoria's Secret. I was interested to compare the products between the two stores!
Its interesting to find that that both this look book, and Victoria's Secret may have lingerie, but Free People is able to create a whole new classy young touch to the style!
Here is a link to check out a few of their styles!

Post 7: Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2014 Trunkshow Exclusive

I never knew what a trunk show was until I had to do this post. I find this concept to be a smart idea! I chose to post about Ferragamo's Spring 2014 Trunkshow because they're a company that I have heard many references about, but never actually seen any of their designs or clothing. After watching this video, I can see what the talk is about because the designs are gorgeous. I love how the collection has a strong focus on light neutral colors. This is sort of similar to Spring 2015 collections, specifically relating back to one of my previous posts with H&M! Overall, great show!

Post 6: Video Fashion Show (Victoria's Secret 2014)

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show 2014 was the first one I have ever watched for the company. The main reason I decided to watch it was due to my employment at a Victoria's Secret. I thought it would be fun to check out what all the hype was about from my coworkers. I thought the layout of the show was very different from most. I found it to be interesting how the singers would perform in the middle of the stage while the models would also walk down the runway. In my personal opinion I think it was kind of awkward because the runway was too crowded in my opinion. This is also the reason why Ariana Grande accidentally got knocked in the head from one of the Angel's wings.

Overall, it was a great show and I will definitely watch the next one!

FB #5 Visual Merchandising as source for color trends.

With Spring fast approaching, I went to H&M at my local mall because I thought they are a great brand when it comes to expressing individuality at affordable prices. As you can see in the pictures I took, they are advertising "The New Neutrals". According to WGSN, Spring 2015 will have a great variety of core colors. A core color basically includes the classic shades on the color palette. A great example of core colors are the basic white and beige neutrals.

A second thing that I noticed on a few of these models in the pictures, are that some of them are wearing one pieces. One mannequin is wearing a white pair of stylish overalls; meanwhile a different mannequin is wearing a beige jumpsuit. While one piece outfits have not been one of my favorites in the past, I can sense that there will be a lot of positive feedback from the consumer this season!

Entry #4: NY Times Review

Jeremy Scott, Moschino, Katy Perry: Who Scored at Super Bowl XLIX?- By Vanessa Friedman

I really enjoyed this article especially because I was able to watch the half-time show and see first-hand what events took place. With the wild and crazy outfits that Katy Perry was wearing that night, it was later discovered that Moschino designed her outfits. Katy Perry went from wearing a beach-ball mindress to a faux-fire dress. The outfits were brilliant in terms of design and bright colors that were applied to them. The creativity of the overall show was great.

Attached is a picture from the NY Times Article, as well as some key terms relating to fashion!
